Altrincham Concert

Hi Everyone – Just to let you know how the concert in Altrincham went. First of all – and I will apologise for this but I hope you understand. There are no pictures – the concert was very tightly packed and I was sitting to the side of Andrew a few rows back. It would have been inappropriate of me to take pictures. Andrew sang 5 songs – in the first half he sang Caro mio ben (Giordani), O del mio dolce ardour (Gluck) and then Silent Worship (Handel). In the second half he sang Music for a While (Purcell) and Rollicum Rorum (Gerald Finzi) I have to say his Purcell piece was absolutely beautiful and there were a few ‘Bravo’s’ from an appreciative audience. Andrew was accompanied by David Jones (Accompaniment Coordinator at the RNCM and Deputy Director of the Junior RNCM) on piano. I was very proud of him and it was hard to believe that only a year and a half ago his voice had started to change and that the instrument he now has belongs to someone as young as 15 years old. There were 3 other outstanding young musicians:- Grace Yan (10) (piano), Tom Blomfield (14) (Oboe) and Emma Rushworth (violin) – Emma (15) has most recently been leading the Halle Harmony Youth Orchestra: a project set up by The Halle and Diverse TV Productions to be televised on Channel 4 late 2010 or early 2011 entitled ‘The Band’. Also performing was Andrew Wilde an English Classical pianist who has given recitals all over the world – Warsaw, Milan, New York, Berlin etc. There are not enough superlatives to describe how amazing this man was – I was completely blown away. It was a beautiful sunny evening – we had strawberries and cream and wine on the lawn and then went inside to listen to these talented young musicians. The evening was finished off with Andrew Wilde playing Polonaise in A flat, Op 53 Maestoso (Chopin). The money raised for the concert was going to The Children’s Society. I will say that Andrew was slightly taller than the other young musicians - in fact probably twice their height - in fact he was probably taller than anyone there, including the other adults

questions ONLY in here please…

Finally received One Voice

Hello to all. I have been enjoying listening to Andrew’s music that is found on the web but knew I was missing something big. I ordered One Voice over Christmas and received it yesterday (I guess it was backordered). What an incredible CD! I kept going to the website and listening to the small bits that you can listen to, over and over. Now that I’ve heard the entire CD (many, many times) I can’t wait until a new CD is released. OK, I can wait. I realize that it may be sometime but WOW what a voice you have, Andrew. It will be so fun to hear your mature voice on a CD! O Come, O come Emmanuel was fabulous. I tend to lurk - shy by nature. Bravo, Andrew, Bravo!! A dedicated fan from Kansas!
